The stream controls its banks, not the reverse.  This is an excerpt from a series of short video programs describing basic stream dynamics.  The primary audience is municipalities tasked with “controlling” streams.    Real world footage is interspersed with stock footage to illustrate basic scientific concepts. This excerpt includes a description of stored energy using skiers and a description of meander formation using racehorses.  The 3 titles in the series are:  “Stream Energy”, “Upstream and Downstream Effects” and “Dredging and Deeper Channel Behavior”.
